What Is STAR?
STAR has been serving transportation needs of the community's older adults and permanently disabled since 1982. It is supported by a millage of the townships of Bruce, and Washington, a Specialized Service Grant from the State of Michigan, Community and Municipal Credits from SMART, and is a Community Based Service Provider of SMART.

Eligibility:
You must be a resident of the Village of Romeo, or the townships of Bruce or Washington, and 60 years of age or older, or under 60 years of age and have a disability that prevents you or the individual from operating a vehicle.

What STAR Does: 
Take passengers for any transportation request, such as medical appointments, banks, groceries, drug stores, hair appointments, nutritional and recreational activities, in the Village of Romeo and the Townships of Bruce and Washington. STAR travels outside the townships for personal medical appointments. This includes Henry Ford Macomb area, Crittenton area and the Troy Beaumont area.

Business Hours: 
STAR operates Monday - Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, closed for most Government Holidays.

How to Schedule a Ride: 
Call STAR at (586) 752-9010 by 12:00PM at least one working day in advance. STAR will take reservations for Medical appointments up to one month in advance, and all other appointments up to two weeks in advance.
